While packed with excellent treat lunches, Soho is not usually the place for a midday bargain. But Maoz and their crispy falafel balls will fill you up with tasty, healthy stuff for less than a fiver. You choose between a box or a pitta to hold your falafel portion, then you stuff the rest of said container with foods from their salad buffet, which is very exciting and varied until the end of your meal, when you realise it all tasted a bit the same. No matter; the buffet nature of the situation means that you can enjoy the challenge both of piling on olives like it’s the end of vegetable Buckaroo, and then testing whether your eyes were bigger than your stomach. They probably were, to be honest. Apparently they’re also open in the evening and it’s BYO with no corkage, so you could have a seriously cheap dinner, though it would be a little like dining out in Subway.
