For the love of all that is savoury, these sandwiches are effing incredible. Even the most low-rent cheese toastie is a thing of glory, in my book, and these are the total champions of the genre. They might be champions of the entire sandwich genre, to be honest, with their hearty sourdough bread that’s crisp and golden thanks to a good slick of butter, and their rich, just-the-safe-side-of-excessive filling: in this case kimchi, stilton and cheddar.
This sandwich induced jealousy from all those who saw (and smelt) it. It delighted me and filled me until dinner time. It was served by kind, friendly people from the handsome front of a barbers in Fitzrovia. It took a while to be ready, but it was worth the wait. The only issue here is that they also serve waffles and ice cream, but I will never have space for it after the sandwich. But not to worry. It’s a price I’m willing to pay.
