Maltby Street Market

Fig tarts at Maltby Street Ropewalk
There are a few things about this food market that meant, until recently, that it didn’t quite fit into my lifestyle. It’s not near anything, it was only open on Saturdays, and the stalls tended to pack up just after lunch time. These days Maltby Street Market‘s producers and Ropewalk’s stalls also open on Sundays, and I have discovered the joys of waking up at the weekend without a menacing shroud of hangover weighing my brow to my pillow. Which means I managed to visit for a second time recently, even though it is still not near anything. It’s a great trip for the faintly fuzzy-headed; the fresh air will do you good, and there’s delicious lunch to cater for all cravings.

Not what I was in the market for (PUN BELL!), but definitely worth a photo.
